This whole Abercrombie and Fitch thing is stupid. So fucking stupid. Like everyone is suddenly coming to the realization that Abercrombie and Fitch hates fat people. I could’ve told you that when I was ten. Like it’s really really really really blatantly obvious to everyone is actually fat. AND GUESS WHAT? NONE OF US GAVE A FUCK.
Everyone who is SO upset by the CEO’s comments are actual skinny people. People who he doesn’t hate. People who he wouldn’t mind if they wore his clothes. People who have NO IDEA what it’s really like to be plus size and for plus size stores to be your only option. Those of us who know what that is actually like, really never gave a second thought to Abercrombie and Fitch and 0% were actually surprised by the comments he made (in 2006 none the less).
The fact that it is still getting so much traction is so ridiculous. The whole “Put homeless people in Abercrombie and Fitch and donate it to Goodwill so poor people will wear it!” movement is started by dumb skinny rich kids who think people actually WANT their dumb as fuck clothing which is literally an entire brand that is based around people paying ridiculous amount of money for clothing that is just the company’s logo. You’re paying THEM to advertise for THEM. You’re so fucking stupid I can’t even begin to tell you how you’ve failed at life if you thought that Abercrombie was a good company in the first place.
Big girls, thick girls, curvy girls, fat girls. Whatever you want to call them, DON’T GIVE A FUCK AND NEVER HAVE. They don’t need Abercrombie and fucking Fitch to give them their Idiot’s seal of approval on their size. I would like to direct you to a Michael Buckley video where he said it in much nicer words then I ever will, but what I’m trying to say is, if you think that by giving away your Abercrombie or by signal boosting how shitty of a company they are that you’re being an advocate to the plus size community, you’re not. We don’t need you to defend us. We don’t need your help. We’re just fucking fine on our own thank you, and stop being shocked by some asshole telling me he hates me. I see fatphobia every fucking day and it’s nothing new and it’s never gonna go away. Unlike racism or homophobia, this is something we can scientifically “change” about ourselves and people will ALWAYS think that we SHOULD adjust ourselves to their idea of beautiful because we CAN.
This fight is bigger than you, it is infinitely bigger than Abercrombie and fucking Fitch and you acting dumb isn’t going to help anything.
